The LUCA-40KM Retransfer printer represents the next development stage of enhanced card printing technology. This technology is suitable for full-surface over-the-edge printing and improved reliability.
As such, the process is ideal for a large number of card types. The LUCA 40KM guarantees an excellent 600 DPI print quality, comfortable, fast and very reliable. First the image will be printed onto a retransfer film, then the image will be automatically transferred from the carrier film onto the card surface. This technology enables a full-face edge-to-edge printing that come close to the quality of an offset printing machine.

Up to 144 full color plastic cards (single side) can be printed within one hour and up to 65 full color printed cards when printing double side. Besides PVC the printer can personalize also other plastic materials such as ABS, PET or Polycarbonate. Also cards with uneven surface or an embedded chip can be printed easily. The Color- and Retransfer ribbon is good for 500 card sides each and the card feeder can keep up to 250 cards securely and clean. The card output hopper has a capacity of 250 cards to enable an synchronized operation. Several options i.e. encoders for magnetic stripe, contact- and contactless chip cards are available as well as an ID card software.
